DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, MOUNT ANY SPECIALTY TIRES OF AMERICA PRODUCED TIRE (STA TIRE) ON A WHEEL THAT DOES NOT MEET TIRE AND RIM ASSOCIATION STANDARDS.

Use of STA tires on wheels that do not meet Tire & Rim Association standards can cause the assembly to fail and burst with explosive force sufficient to cause serious personal injury or death.

STA tires are intended to be used exclusively on tire rims designed and manufactured to comply with Tire & Rim Association standards and specifications. Any person using STA tire on wheels that do not meet Tire & Rim Association standards and specifications or on damaged wheels assumes responsibility for these dangerous actions and agrees to reimburse Specialty Tires of America (and its affiliated companies) for all loss, damage, or cost it may suffer because of such actions.

Wheel standards and specifications can be obtained by writing to: Tire & Rim Association, 175 Montrose West Avenue, Suite 150, Copley, Ohio 44321 or by consulting your rim manufacturer. Consult your rim manufacturer to determine if your rim can be used with the tire selected for your application.

Tire Mounting Instructions

IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT THAT TIRE MOUNTING IS PERFORMED ONLY BY SPECIALLY TRAINED PERSONNEL USING PROPER TOOLS AND PROCEDURES.

Failure to follow safe mounting procedures can result in faulty positioning of the tire and cause the assembly to burst with explosive force sufficient to cause serious personal injury or death.

Clean rim and lubricate beads with rubber lubricant.

Center the tire so that the bead is clear of the wheel well before inflating to prevent broken beads.

Always lock rim on mounting machine or place assembly in a safety cage. Use an air hose with clip on chuck and extension air gauge.

NEVER exceed 35 psi to seat beads on rim. Excessive air pressure can damage the tire and cause it to violently blow off the wheel.

IF THE TIRE BEADS DO NOT SEAT, STOP! RELEASE ALL AIR FROM THE TIRE, AND CONTACT SPECIALTY TIRES OF AMERICA OR A TRAINED MOUNTING PROFESSIONAL.

There is a danger of serious injury or death if a tire of one bead diameter is installed on a rim or wheel of a different rim diameter. Always replace a tire with another tire of exactly the same bead diameter designation and suffix letters. For example, a 16″ tire mounts on a 16″ rim. Never mount a 16″ tire on a 16.1″ or 16.5″ rim. A 16.1″ tire mounts on a 16.1″ rim. Never mount a 16.1″ tire on a 16″ or 16.5″ rim. A 16.5″ tire mounts on a 16.5″ rim. Never mount a 16.5″ tire on a 16″ or a 16.1″ rim.

LIMITED WARRANTY/STUBBLE DAMAGE POLICY/FIELD HAZARD POLICY

FOR SPECIALTY TIRES OF AMERICA BIAS AGRICULTURAL TIRES

TIRES COVERED

This Limited Warranty covers original-tread Specialty Tires of America American Farmer® brand bias agricultural tires purchased or manufactured after January 1, 2009, used in normal agricultural service.  It does not cover tires made for or used in pulling contests, or tires not bearing the Specialty Tires of America serial number and sidewall markings.

WHAT IS WARRANTED

If, before wearing down to 2/32nds of an inch of tread or bar depth remaining, any tire covered by this Limited Warranty becomes unusable for a condition of material or factory workmanship within the manufacturer’s control, such tire will be replaced with an equivalent new Specialty Tires of America tire on the basis set forth in the section titled “Limited Warranty Period and Pro Rata Percentages” below.  Some examples of causes or conditions not covered by this warranty are:

  1. Field,  road hazards, or stubble damage (e.g. cut, snag, puncture, stubble damage, impact break, tear or chunk in tread, bar or shoulder);
  2. Apparent overload or improper inflation pressure or other abuse;
  3. Wheel misalignment, rim slip, tire/wheel assembly imbalance, mismatching of adjacent tires, or other vehicle conditions, defects or characteristics;
  4. Conditions caused by land-leveling, earthmoving operations, or other applications not considered normal agricultural service;
  5. Improper repair or  insertion of sealant, balancing, or filler materials;
  6. Any intentional alteration of the tire;
  7. Mounting damage or conditions caused by improper storage;
  8. Failure to observe any of the “Owner-User’s Obligations” items listed elsewhere in this publication.
  9. Any condition exhibited in a tire beyond the Years of Service or Age of the tire specified elsewhere in this Limited Warranty

 

LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD AND PRO RATA PERCENTAGES

During the first year of service (proof-of-purchase must be attached to claim form), if the tire is worn less than 25%, the tire will be replaced without charge excluding normal mounting and service charges.  After the free replacement period, the replacement price will be prorated based on years of service from the original purchase date (proof-of-purchase must be attached to claim form, or if proof-of-purchase is not available or if tire was not purchased new, then based on years from date of manufacture, which is molded into the sidewall of the tire) as follows: If wear is more than indicated in any year, the Pro Rata Collection shall be based upon extent of wear irrespective of the year of service or age.

CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS

EXCEPT AS SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, SPECIALTY TIRES OF AMERICA, INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

SPECIALTY TIRES OF AMERICA, INC. DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL AND PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSS OF TIME OR PROFITS, LOSS OF VEHICLE USE, OR INCONVENIENCE. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Only the original purchaser of the covered tires may make an adjustment claim under this Limited Warranty and only for tires used in normal agricultural operations in North America, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty is intended to be a representation that failures cannot occur.

 

OWNER-USER’S OBLIGATIONS

Proper tire care is necessary to obtain maximum hours of usage and wear.

The owner-user’s obligations are to operate tires within tire load and speed limits (at cold air pressures specified by Specialty Tires of America, Inc. for load and speed according to individual tire size, type, and load capacity) and to maintain proper tire and wheel alignment.

In case of a warranty or adjustment claim, the owner-user must present the tire to an authorized Specialty Tires of America dealer, complete and sign the customer section of the adjustment claim form, attach to the claim form a copy of the proof-of-purchase showing the date the tire was purchased new or proof-of-purchase of the new agricultural equipment that the tire came on, and pay the appropriate replacement price, taxes and service charges for a new, current equivalent Specialty Tires of America brand tire.

The obligation of Specialty Tires of America, Inc. under this Limited Warranty and Commercial Adjustment Policy may not be enlarged or altered by anyone.

 

STUBBLE DAMAGE POLICY

 

TIRES COVERED

The Specialty Tires of America, Inc. Stubble Damage Policy covers new Specialty Tires of America American Farmer® brand R-1 and “Stalk Buster” tires manufactured after January 1, 2009.  Tires submitted for adjustment under this policy must have been purchased new by the owner-user and used in normal agricultural service.  This Stubble Damage Policy does not cover tires made for or used in pulling contests, or tires not bearing the Specialty Tires of America serial number and sidewall markings.

POLICY CONDITIONS

Only the original purchaser of the covered tire or of the agricultural equipment the tire came on may make an adjustment claim under this Stubble Damage Policy.  If, in normal agricultural service, a Specialty Tires of America tire covered by this Stubble Damage Policy becomes unusable or not repairable due to stubble damage, such tire will be replaced with an equivalent new Specialty Tires of America tire on a pro rata basis as set forth below.  The original purchaser must pay as a replacement price the appropriate pro rata percentage of the owner-user’s buying price, together with mounting and service charges and applicable taxes.

This Stubble Damage Policy is a statement of adjustment policy coverage only.  Nothing in the Stubble Damage Policy is intended to be a warranty against stubble damage or representation that failures cannot occur.  SPECIALTY TIRES OF AMERICA, INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN RESPECT OF STUBBLE DAMAGE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

STUBBLE DAMAGE POLICY AND PRO RATA PERCENTAGES

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This Stubble Damage Policy does not cover broken beads, damage due to run flat, abuse, land leveling, vehicle projection, accident, collision, fire or vandalism.  Only the original purchaser of the covered tires may make an adjustment claim under this Stubble Damage Policy and only for tires used in normal agricultural operations in North America, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

OWNER-USER’S OBLIGATIONS

The owner-user’s obligations are to operate tires within tire load and speed limits (at cold air pressures specified by Specialty Tires of America, Inc. for load and speed according to individual tire size, type, and load capacity) and to maintain proper alignment of tires and wheels.  To reduce stubble damage, the owner-user must:

  1. Set the tire spacing to run between rows – not on stubble.
  2. Use mechanical devices readily available through equipment manufacturers to knock down stubble.
  3. Make first tillage pass parallel to the rows.

In case of an adjustment claim, the owner-user must present the tire to an authorized Specialty Tires of America dealer, complete and sign the customer section of the adjustment claim form, attach to the claim form a copy of the proof-of-purchase showing the date the tire was purchased new, or proof-of-purchase of the new agricultural equipment that the tire came on, and pay the appropriate replacement price, taxes, mounting and service charges for a new, current equivalent Specialty Tires of America brand tire.

The obligation of Specialty Tires of America, Inc. under this Stubble Damage Policy may not be enlarged or altered by anyone.

 

FIELD HAZARD POLICY

 

TIRES COVERED

The Specialty Tires of America, Inc. Field Hazard Policy covers new Specialty Tires of America American Farmer® brand R-1 and “Stalk Buster” tires manufactured after January 1, 2009.  Tires submitted for adjustment under this policy must have been purchased new by the owner-user and used in normal agricultural service.  This Field Hazard Policy does not cover tires made for or used in pulling contests, or tires not bearing the Specialty Tires of America serial number and sidewall markings.
